1. Drawing requirements: Submit line drawings,in STP or DWG formatDrawing exports are free of charge; Japan does not accept component applications; the drawings mustbe identical to those in the priority document; the drawing type and colors mustbe identical, with no alterations,You cannot use a rendered image for one and a line graph for another using . If the priority chart is incorrect, either apply according to the priority chart or do not submit the incorrect image

2. Novelty requirement: If, before the filing date (or the priority date, if applicable),the patentee has already disclosed the patented product, a novelty grace period declaration is required. It must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be supplemented later;Exception: In other countries, a grace period declaration cannot be made due to disclosure caused by patent application.3. Deferred publication: Japan can apply for a three-year deferral of publication, which should be requested when filing the application or paying the registration fee.4. Design patent term of validity: 25 years (renewal required every 3 years with a fee).
