Hague Agreement
The main content of the Hague Agreement is:
Individuals or entities who are nationals of, or have a domicile or place of business in, any member state of the Hague Union can apply for 'international registration'. The applicant only needs to file one application with the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization to obtain industrial design patent protection in the member countries where protection is desired. When applying for international registration, it is not necessary to first obtain approval for a design patent from a national patent office. Through a single registration, protection can be obtained in several countries simultaneously. The duration of international registration is 5 years, which can be extended for another 5 years upon expiration.
